Dr. Lewis is a sociologist with extensive experience and training in qualitative methods and content area expertise in mental health, substance use disorders (SUD), and pain management. On previously funded studies she has shared her expertise with qualitative data collection and analysis to assist with a variety of study aims, including construct definition, barriers and facilitators of effective implementation of evidence-based practices, and understanding how patients experience SUDs. As an Investigator at the Center for Innovation to Implementation, she has conducted qualitative research on opioid misuse and patient perspectives on brief substance use interventions (among other areas). She helps lead program evaluation work at the Program Evaluation and Resource Center (PERC), an evaluation center in the VA Office of Mental Health and Suicide Prevention.
